Twistab challenge workshop

TWISTAB is a versatile flatpack design for stools and tables created by Isaac Pierre with Fablab Barcelona. Isaac Pierre, its creator will host a Twistab challenge workshop.
Get acces to Twistab files and create a customized stool.

The workshop empowers customization using CAD design, laser engraving and CNC milling.

Participants will be given choices of materials and challenged with technical and aesthetical decisions while learning to design and fabricate their own Twistab model.

Workshop structure:

1 – Introduction to Twistab design rules

2 – Draw a model + select materials

• handdraw the changes to be made
• choose and measure material to be used for fabrication
• *select or generate a pattern (if desired)

Adapt the files

• create the 3D model
• *include a vector or raster pattern to engrave
• Laser cut a model (3mm mdf or plywood)
• final retouch the design files

Make the object

• mill kurf test
• create milling strategy
• make CAM file
• make G-CODE
• CNC mill the object
• *Laser engrave pattern

Finishing:

• sand and finish the product.

I would like also to invite each participant to document every step of their experience.
